Reactions and Reviews
A romantic story based on Metamorphosis, and a joy to read. A tender, emotional k/S story. Thoughtful and caring. Some very stirring images and wonderful metaphors. She shows the boyish delightfulness of the Kirk character and the tender inner nature of Spock. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I love her word choice. [1]
Of These I Seek by Allison K. lets us consider some new insights provided by the Companion from Metamorphosis. There are great images depicted here...some of those infamous ―looks‖ that pass from Kirk to Spock and back. A moment I love is Kirk‘s slip of the tongue when Spock cocks an eyebrow at him. Kirk tells Spock, “Why did I know you were going to do that, Mister Spock?‖ Smiling, he unconsciously took Spock‟s arm, walking toward the shuttlecraft. “I never get tired of it, though, “ he said softly, “It‟s one of the things I love most about you....” Ahhh, doesn‘t that give you a warm feeling right to the tip of your toes? The drift of this Act is that Spock thinks a lot about what the Ambassador says in her delirium about how awful it would be to live without love. This is something Spock has believed was the right direction for him, and now he questions staying on that pathway. I‘ve always thought there were many possibilities in this episode and it‘s nice to see some of them explored.[2]
