It‘s nice to see a longer story from this talented author. She reaches back to the events on Tarsus for this plot driven story about Kirk‘s reunion with an old friend from that terrible time. Kirk is torn between duty and friendship, and even jeopardizes his new relationship with Spock. This is a beautifully written story with superb characterizations of Kirk and especially Spock, who offers his new lover trust, faith, and forgiveness in difficult circumstances. [1]
