Quark/Odo is a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine slash pairing that became popular after 2010, when the series was added to Netflix and gained new fans.
Quark is the ferengi owner of Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade on space station Deep Space 9. He is constantly getting involved in illegal activities, which causes station Security Chief Odo to constantly have to keep an eye on him. They are presented as adversaries at the beginning of the series, but eventually developed some mutual respect for each other. They both served on the station when it was known as Terok Nor and under Cardassian rule.
Deep Space Nine Documentary
On July 20th, 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con during a screening of the documentary What We Left Behind a deleted outtake of the episode "What You Leave Behind" was shown, in which Odo and Quark kiss before Odo leaves to join the Great Link.[1] The reaction of the fans was almost immediate, talking about it on social media and creating fanwork and memes about the scene.
Fandom
With the resurgence of participation in the DS9 fandom there seems to be a new interest in the pairing, especially on Tumblr.
