Canon
Ocean Girl is a 1990s Australian sci-fi TV Show about a girl named Neri who lives alone on an island. Her only friend is a male humpback whale she can communicate with and whom she names 'Charlie'. After she becomes friends with brothers Jason and Brett Bates, she seeks to find out about her origins.
Ocean Girl lasted four seasons. The show is called Ocean Odyssey in the UK and Océane in France where Neri is renamed Océeane. It also inspired an animated series called The New Adventures of Ocean Girl, which ran from 2000 to 2001.
