Reactions and Reviews

1997

Spock is a wealthy son to the Vulcan ambassador to the Federation and is supervising an historical restoration on his ancestral mansion. A really unique idea.

Kirk is a human in charge of the restoration crew. He meets Spock and they hit it off. I thoroughly enjoyed their first conversation—a wonderful combination of the formal Vulcan and the spirited human—done with a flavor of Lady Chatterly's Lover.

I loved the detailed history of Spock's family and of Vulcan, although I wish it had been presented more integrated into the story instead of as a lengthy narration. But it was super. I also loved the beautiful descriptions of the old-world mansion.

Aargh! Spock offers Kirk steak for dinner. Sorry—not serving meat for a vegetarian is not just a matter of taste— it's not like carrots or something. What was he doing with some dead animal carcass in his refrigerator anyway? Uh, oh. Don't get me started.

And here come those pesky constant shifts of POV again.

Kirk and Spock go exploring the castle-type mansion that includes some secret passageways. I loved how intrigued Kirk was by the things. Well, they explore Spock's bedroom and they kiss. Excellent kiss! Only a bit unexpected from Spock because we never really saw a sexual attitude that would allow such spontaneity. But I didn't mind too much—for here Spock is smoldering and sensual (yes!) and he whispers provocative things to Kirk.

Then — Spock only rubs and handles Kirk and what an orgasm! Wow! Spock's view of Kirk as he comes is absolutely magnificent. I'd quote one entire paragraph if I could, but check this out: " 'I can't...too sensitive,' he moaned. But Spock held the organ against the roof of his mouth and sucked on it—hard. Kirk bucked and Spock held him down. Kirk moaned and whispered a scream— Spock's name. And he was hard again, tingling with an arousal so strong he didn't think he could survive, every nerve in his body was on fire."

What a dynamite sex scene this is. I especially loved Spock's command of Kirk—flipping him over and stuff. Boy! Then when he holds Kirk's hips up and licks him there— goodness.

Maybe you can tell by now that I really needed this generous dose of K/S sex. It's been a while. Wait there's more! They do things with fruit and sauce....

One personal jarring note: a bunch of "scooting". That term. I shake my head. Tsk, tsk.

I loved that Kirk was the "head of the largest archeological restoration firm". His work and background was nicely shown except I had a really hard time with Kirk's was nicely shown except I had a really hard time with Kirk's inability to go to Vulcan to see Spock. It was explained many times that Kirk was too busy. Okay, but then why did he get all anxious and depressed when Spock didn't call him? And then when he does call him, why did Kirk just dismiss it? I kind of wanted to shake Kirk. Besides, even though this is A/U, isn't this the man who would give up his entire career as a starship captain to help Spock? I know Spock isnt dying or sick or anything, but the only excuse is too much work and on top of that, Kirk bemoans his fate and is morose, and on top of that, thinks Spock just wanted a one night stand. And thinks Spock "had been able to dismiss their relationship...made it clear that there would be no more." When did that happen? It was so frustrating because the only reason Kirk didn't go to Spock was the lame excuse of being too busy.

But all's well in the end, and I did love that hot, hot sex. Just what the K/S doctor ordered. [1]
