music_fic is a LiveJournal community for posting band fic of any genre (het, slash, femslash, etc.). Plagiarism was banned, but MSTs were allowed. It was affiliated with two "sister communities": fanfictionet [1] and slashypunkboys. Last post dated 04 Jun 2010, but the community was later updated until February 2020.
According to Fan History Wiki, music_fic was created in response to the deletion[1] of the LiveJournal community fanficdotnet.[2]
As of 2017, music_fic had 2,892 posts; 12,297 comments; and 374 members.[3] As of 2022, music_fic had 2,808 posts; 11,828 comments; and 370 members[4] a reduction that is a reflection of the departure of users from LJ and the deletion of some posts and comments from the community.
