The morning after is a trope in both fanon and canon. It involves one or more characters waking up to face the aftermath of a sexual encounter had the previous night.
There are a wide variety of interpretations of this trope. Some feature the character(s) expressing shame and regret due to a one-night stand, infidelity, or other inadvisable encounter. Positive takes may feature the characters reflecting on their new status as a couple. Others takes may involve the character(s) dealing with more prosaic (and sometimes comedic) outcomes, such as stained or ruined clothing, how to sneak out of without being caught, or how to prevent pregnancy.
