Reactions and Reviews
2004
Mimor VI by [Jesmihr] is also a pretty good read, though I thought she should either ramp up the angst or play it down more, one or the other. Still, it was a nice diversion down K/S lane.[2]
2005
Possibly the best K/S story I've read online,. Classic search-and-rescue, hurt-comfort, and the Enterprise crew at their best, with a lovely and moving resolution. Don't miss it.[3]
i have loved this story since i first read it. when you hit it, you hit it! this is a favorite.[3]

It starts out with Spock away from the ship on a top secret scientific mission helping to develop a new formula which may help to improve a person’s memory – something Spock himself has doubts about and only agreed to do because Kirk persuaded him to do so. During the return journey to pick Spock up again Kirk is devastated when he learns that the lab has been attacked and everyone apparently killed, and he is not much happier when he learns that Spock and one of the other scientists are in fact still alive but have been taken prisoner by their attackers. The story is told very well from both Kirk and Spock’s point of view and switches effortlessly between the two, as we learn what happened to Spock at the laboratory and after the attack when he took drastic action to try to save himself and his colleague, who ends up making the ultimate sacrifice to protect both Spock and the formula, something which make Spock review his relationship with Kirk. What happens after this is very well depicted, with Kirk rushing to the rescue only to fall into a very carefully sprung trap. His reactions when they finally find Spock is alive, although in a somewhat precarious state, is very well described as is Spock’s reaction when he recovers and realises in turn what is going to happen to Kirk.
This is all told in a very well thought out story, which has all the right elements of suspense, tension and angst. While Spock agonises over his final solution, thinking that he will lose Kirk’s friendship as a result, not to mention any chance of managing to hide his previously unrevealed feelings for Kirk, he still brings himself to save Kirk even though it involves what he considers to be the ultimate betrayal of that friendship be cause he simply cannot stand by and leave Kirk as he found him, a victim of an overdose of the formula, which is now proven not to work. His realisation of the probable price he will have to pay for saving Kirk (i.e. the loss of their friendship) and Kirk’s actual reaction is a very well plotted and portrayed ending to another excellent piece of writing. How do you do it? How do you make me see my 3 friends in my head speaking their lines like i was watching it on t.v. Absolutely amazing, touching, words cannot convey how i feel about this beautiful story. God bless you. 5 stars.[3]
Poor Sihtek. *sniff* I will remember your bravery and devotion to Spock. *bow*[3]

Wow! This story is amazing! I'm shocked there aren't more comments. Sihtek was a compelling character. I don't usually like original characters but he was so well written and what happened to him was so sad. You're so talented![5]
What a wonderful story! Although I enjoy K/S romances, I like them best when they occur in the context of who these two ARE and what they do in their lives, making your adventure tale the perfect fit for my tastes. Thank you.[5]
