The Memories feature on LiveJournal and other sites using LJ code (such as Journalfen and InsaneJournal) provides the ability to create public bookmarks that can be stored within a user or community's blog space.
This was often referred to "adding a post to one's memories".
The feature was introduced on Livejournal in late 2000. The practice fell out of favor once tagging was introduced to the Livejournal platform in June 2005.
Some fannish uses of memories include fanwork recs, thematic lists, challenge masterlists, and collections of con reports or reactions to fandom events.
