Max Steger is a guitarist for Empires. He first became interested in music when his older sister played Nirvana for him. He owns Hedgehog Studios, which is run out of his parents' basement, and often does production work for his friends (including Jon Walker).
When asked to describe himself with a color and a shape, he told the interviewer that he is "a diamond in a coal mine." He is also the person who described Empires' touring life as "pack of wolves".
