This Zine Caused a Name Change of Another Zine

The the first four issues of the Phantom of the Opera zine, Masquerade, had a very similar name. The editor of this second zine changed hers to Beneath the Mask.

From Beneath the Mask #5:

As you can see, I've have changed from "Masquerade" to "Beneath the Mask", as the previous existence of Mike Gibb's stage musical magazine "Masquerade" was making things too confusing.

Issue 15

Masquerade - The Stage Musical Fanzine 15 was published around summer 1994.

  • an in-depth review of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE with Peter Karrie and Claire Moore
  • an interview with Claire Moore conducted in "Christine's dressing room" at Her Majesty's.

Issue 16

Masquerade - The Stage Musical Fanzine 16 was to have an interview with Peter Karrie.
