Mary Macdonald/Lily Evans Potter is a fanon pairing in the Marauders sub-fandom of the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon
There is little canonical information about either character, though Lily, as Harry's mother, has more canonical material for fans to work with. As a result, the majority of the information about the pairing is fanon.
Fandom
There are a number of ship names for Mary/Lily discussed on Tumblr, but none are currently widespread throughout the fandom. The most common are: Rebelflower, Lionflower, and Queenflower.
Mary/Lily video edits are popular on TikTok, which is common generally for Marauder fanworks.
The pairing was also one of the most popular femslash pairings in centreoftheselights AO3 Ship Stats in 2023, joining the top 100 for the first time at 50th. However, it is very possible that a large proportion of the works the pairing are tagged in have them as a background pairing. As of October 2023, the pairing have 2,368 works, but only 126 that are otp:true. 1,792 of the works have the category F/F tagged and 1,730 have the M/M category tagged.

so, here's how i see it:pandora had a crush on lily. lily liked her back too late. mary and marlene used to date. marlene met dorcas. dorcas and pandora had tried dating each other for half a month. they ended it and stayed close friends. dorcas developed a crush on marlene. they started dating. mary was upset. lily became close with mary again. lily started liking mary. mary found herself falling for lily. they started dating.
context: mary and lily near the end of seventh year fight constantly because lily wants to join dumbledore’s ranks and fight voldemort, while mary absolutely hates the thought of having her friends (and the love of her life) die like pawns in dumbledore’s hands, so she wants to keep at least lily safe, hidden in the muggle world because they’re not even 20 for christ’s sake.eventually, before summer, lily and mary break up.
and maybe they never see each other again.
maybe lily was right, because mary had to watch from afar all her friends fight and die, without being able to do anything.
