Martin Whitly is a major character in Prodigal Son (TV series), played by actor Michael Sheen. He is the father of Malcolm Bright and Ainsley Whitly. He is also a serial killer known by the moniker The Surgeon and is currently imprisoned for his crimes.
Fandom
There is a substantial amount of gen fanworks in this fandom, and Martin often plays the role of antagonist or unhelpful father figure. There are also fic focused on his relationship with his season 1 guard, Mr. David. These are sometimes gen and in other cases slash.
When Martin is paired with other characters, the most common pairing for Martin is with his son Malcolm. As well as incestuous fics, there are also a number of works looking at their gen relationship. Many of these works are dark as Malcolm suffers from PTSD in canon as a result of his father's psychological abuse.
Works also pair Martin with his estranged wife Jessica Whitly. These fics can be set pre-canon with Jessica not aware of her husband's crimes.
