Interview
The Art Process
- Let's Go ("A magazine ad gave me the idea for this one. The pose said 'It's just you and me against the world', perfect for Jim and Blair. So I substituted the guys in, Blair looking back with a calm level gaze, Jim with a scowl, about to say 'Come on Chief, let's go.'" (2000)
Sentinel
- A Hard Day at the Academy, cover art for Standing Sentinel ("This was for my second dues at SA. I used a number of different images for reference, yes, ....including that one of Jim leaning against a door frame in a tank top. It was also my second try at using pastels.") (1999)
- For Julie ("Julie, one of our SA listsibs, had mentioned a hope of seeing stories with the theme of Blair passing out, fainting or by any other means, ending up unconscious in Jim's arms. When Julie became ill, the list responded by turning out many a Blair themed fic for her. This was my contribution.") (1999)
- Thoughtful Blair, used as the cover of Come to Your Senses #20 ("Here is a portrait of Blair. Portraits are faster to do since you don't have to set up a scenario from different sources. It came out rather nicely, I think, even though I was working fast to meet an extended deadline. I love colored pencils, they have all the ease of working with pencils but with the added bonus of color.") (unknown date)
- Field Work used in an episode of the Faux Paws Productions Virtual Seasons and the zine To Lie Down By His Side ("I was looking forward to working with pastels again and this was my first try in a long time. The drawing was for episode FPP-503 (Back To School) of Faux Paws Productions") (1999)
- Blair in a Field of Flowers, cover of Harmonic Convergence ("I decided to take the plunge and try watercolors. They have scared me off for years but I think I'm getting adventurous in my old age. This is not exactly what I hoped for but at least it was faster!!!! :-) This is my second try at scanning it and I seem to have done a better job this time. Now you can actually see that there is a stand of trees along the hill behind his head. I like watercolors!") (unknown date)
- Running ("This is the first drawing that I created for SA (Sentinel Angst). It illustrates a story snippet by Cindy called "Running".") (1999)
- Sandburg ("After reading Gillian's wonderful story "BJ Sandburg", I kept wondering what Blair would look like as a female. So even though I really appreciate Blair's masculine beauty, I did a little experimenting and this is what resulted. I put his features, eyes, nose, mouth and hair into a feminine face. I'm still not sure if you can see Blair in there. I think I ended up with Fiona.") (2000)
- Driving Rain ("This is an illustration for Linda's AU story Driving Rain. I'm really enjoying it. There is just something about a "it was a dark and rainy morning" story that grabs my imagination, especially one so well done. This type of story-oriented illustration is the kind I most enjoy doing. Fortunately when I need to find a particular set up and pose for Jim and Blair, I can usually find a good reference picture at Starfox's Mansion.") (2000)
- Wake Up Call (This is an illustration for one of my all-time favorite Sentinel stories. Leave It by Rachel Martin is an AU story which has a younger Jim and Blair meeting years before in Peru. I only wish I could do justice to the images that this story drew in my imagination.") (2000)
- Moonlight, cover of Sentry Duty #6 ("I was inspired by another colored pencil drawing which got me thinking about cool moonlit nights. It was just another step from there to Jim on a cool moonlit night.") (2000)
- Spending Limit ("This is an illustration for a story that Scribe wrote for "My Mongoose E-Zines". It's in the "Many Seasons of Love" issue and is called "Spending Limit".) (2001)
Professionals
- Just a Hug Between Friends (2001)
- Untitled (2001)
Stargate: SG-1
- thumbnails for Suicidium ("When I was offered the opportunity to illustrate Dawn's wonderful story I jumped at the chance. Not only was Dawn one of my favorite authors, but I had read Suicidium and I loved everything about it. The proposal was for me to do a whole series of drawings for the story and as luck would have it, I actually had the time to do them.") (2003)
- Daniel ("I've been working on this for a couple of years, yikes! It started mostly as an experiment to try out this colourfix paper. In between not working on it and doing other colourfix pieces, I learned a lot about applying color to this kind of surface and finally decided to finish this one. If I had to do it over I would chose a different color paper. It was difficult to overcome the background tone to make a more natural skin tone. Still, the colors blend so beautifully, it was a joy to do.") (2008)
- Daniel Dreams ("This piece would have been completed sooner if I hadn't picked colored pencil as a medium. It took me about 4 months to finish this one, but it was time well spent thinking Daniel thoughts.") (2002)
- thumbnails of "Cheer Up" and "Look What I Found!"
- Team (2003)
- Whatcha Got, Daniel? (2021)
- Jack and Daniel (2023)
Supernatural
- That Hug ("Loved the Sam and Dean hug in Season 6 Episode 12. Here's a sketch from a screen cap.") (2020)
