Ah, the rumor millis at work again! I like to read stories where there are rumors about Kirk and Spock being lovers before they actually are. I dont know why, but the scenario appeals to me.

Here Spock overhears two science techs talking about loneliness, how they have heard that a couple on board the ship will be getting married. Eventually the conversation turns to sex, and the one who has just recently transferred on board mentions that he has heard that "Mister Spock 'helps out' the captain—and vice versa."

Spock has heard this rumor before—he has sharp ears, after all—but he still doesn't like it. Later in the evening he and Kirk are conversing/playing chess, and he brings up the subject in a roundabout way that is sure to arouse Kirk's interest. It's almost as if he doesn't exactly know why he's saying what he's saying. His subconscious is in control. Of course Kirk catches on, and it's interesting me that here he has never heard the rumor. And "he hadn't considered it himself since first meeting Spock." Which is a statement that really throws me off, since later in the story he asks Spock, "Would you be offended if I suggested we engage in a mutually beneficial relationship?" I mean, I know Kirk is known for his quick, intuitive decision making, but this is ridiculous!

Well, you might guess what happens next. No sex, but foreplay that gives you a good idea of what comes next. Hope they had a good time....
