Lin/Kya, also known as Kyalin, is the femslash pairing of Lin Beifong and Kya in The Legend of Korra.

Canon

While Kya and Lin never have on-screen interactions, they do have a shared past. Their parents, Avatar Aang and Toph Beifong, were close friends and Lin once dated Kya's brother Tenzin. When Kya was injured and imprisoned by the Red Lotus after their attack on the Northern Air Temple, Lin eventually arrived with others to rescue her. Kya is also another character confirmed to be queer by the creators after the series finale.

Fandom

The pairing gained interest when Kya made her first appearance in book 2 but remained somewhat of a rarepair. While not shown directly, many fans speculated on Lin and Kya's past as both had grown up together due to their parents close friendship.

After the series finale, in which korrasami became canon, there was a huge influx in femslash fanworks for The Legend of Korra. This also brought a wave of new Kyalin works which were later bolstered when Kya was confirmed as queer. Lin and Kya are often portrayed as either already being in a long standing relationship or coming together after seeing Korra and Asami together.
