lemons_and_desiresRK, also known as Lemons and Desires--- RK Fanfictions was a Rurouni Kenshin Yahoo! Group. It was founded on October 19, 2004 and was a public group, open for anyone to join. Membership did not require approval, although messages were moderated. The group had a total of 563 members.
The group's main purpose was to discuss Rurouni Kenshin fanfiction - specifically lemon, or NSFW fanfiction. The Group's About page read:
The first message posted to the group was by silver (Princess of the Darkness Flame) on December 3, 2004. The group was most active between 2004 and 2007, after which activity died off, although a message from someone searching for a fanfic was posted on March 30, 2012.
Members would often write in to discuss specific fanfic, or looking for a particular fic they'd read (to which other members would respond with a name or a link). Discussions would also sometimes revolve around specific ships, characters or plot elements from the anime or manga. The canon ship Kenshin/Kaoru was the most popular among members of the group; a poll created by rei_youkai in November 2004 found that 84% of group members preferred Kenshin/Kaoru, with Aoshi/Misao being the next most popular with 9% of votes. Aoshi/Kaoru, a non-canon ship, came third.[1]
In June 2005, aoi-chan announced that they had created an official website for lemons_and_desires, called Angel Dreams and Desires. Group members were invited to submit fanfic and fanart to the site.
