The Legomance is a trope in Lord of the Rings fanfiction which depicts a romance between Legolas and an original female character, who often scores highly on the Mary Sue index. The term is often used in a derogatory fashion. For example, the Godawful Fan Fiction Wiki defines it as One of the seven billion or so stories in LotR where Legolas falls in love with the author, or the author's friend, or the author's Sue, or the author's pen pal's golden retriever.[1]
