Lady with an Ermine is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci completed between 1489–1491. The work depicts Cecilia Gallerani holding an ermine while looking to the right.

Philip Pullman has stated that the painting was one of the inspirations for daemons in His Dark Materials.[1]
