LadyKate is a fanwriter, fanartist, reccer and moderator in the Xena: Warrior Princess and BBC Robin Hood fandoms. She explains her entrance into fandom:

In March 2001, at the now-defunct Xena Netforum at Studios USA, I posted a very half-baked idea for what I would have liked to see as the series finale, and some of my fellow fans encouraged me to develop it into a story. I did write it and get it posted to a couple of fan fiction sites, using my Netforum handle, LadyKate, as my pen name. And so LadyKate, Xenaverse bard, was born.[1]

Her fiction tends to be het or gen, though she has also written femslash, and covers the spectrum of drabble to novel, and angst to fluff. It is archived at AO3, ff.net and in her personal livejournal. Her personal website, The Muse's Corner, houses her Xena fanfiction and digital artwork. She sometimes co-writes with Tango1.

Xena

LadyKate entered Xena fandom in March 2001. She co-owns and moderates the Xena Online Community. In this fandom, her focus is the Xena/Ares pairing. She is a writer for the Shipper Virtual Seasons.

Robin Hood

LadyKate started writing in the Robin Hood fandom in July 2009. She is the founder and moderator of the Robin Hood Fan Community, where she is a prolific poster and regular fanfiction reccer. She focuses on Guy of Gisborne, and particularly the Guy/Marian pairing. Servetus describes her Guy/Marian writing as steamy, moving ... addictive.[3]

LadyKate explains her inspiration for writing in this fandom and her interest in AUs:

Marian's death at the end of the season 2 finale! ... As a Guy fan (and a Guy/Marian fan), I did want a better ending for them. I think all AU fic starts with the question, "What if things had happened a little differently at this point?" And of course the season 2 finale is full of AU possibilities, because so many things go wrong to culminate in the tragedy of Guy killing Marian, and at so many points things could have happened differently. An obvious one, of course, is "What if Guy had killed the Sheriff?" (which is explored in several fics, including bookishy's wonderful work-in-progress, Fallout. ... Another one that occurred to me was, "What if Carter hadn't come to rescue Robin and the gang from the desert?" and from that, The Lady of Nottingham was born. ...
The inspiration, ultimately, comes from the show itself, and what keeps me writing is the desire to tell new stories with these characters and in this setting. I don't see myself as writing in order to "fix" the show’s presumed failings; while I didn't agree with everything the writers and producers did, especially in season 3 (some real missed opportunities there!), I think the show was excellent. I am not "fixing" anything, I just think many more stories remain to be told in this universe — and I want to tell some of them.[3]

And on her use of sex scenes:

I do think that while sex is not redemptive per se, it can lead to moments of unique emotional openness and vulnerability, of all emotional barriers being down. To me the sex scenes in The Lady of Nottingham and in A Different Side are not just about sex, they're about an intimate human connection — which is not to say that there can't be an intimate connection without sex! One of these days I'll write a Guy of Gisborne story in which Guy doesn't get any.[3]
