Fandom

In September 2024, the creator revealed that sales were going poorly in Japan. In the wake of other yuri cancellations ascribed to poor marketing[1], fans feared the worst for the future of LOVE-BULLET. As such, fans rallied to show their support,[2][3] creating explanatory Carrds[4] and Google Docs[5] to help non-Japanese fans purchase copies of the first volume, and otherwise advertising the manga as widely as they could. The resulting rush sold out copies on multiple websites, [6][7] making the future look brighter for this manga.[8]

Crossovers

While the fandom is still in its infancy, fans have enjoyed how neatly these characters slot into matchmaker roles in fanworks.[9] As such, there is a growing trend of drawing the cupids setting up other ships in media.

Theories

In a flashback scene about Koharu’s proficiency with matchmaking, some fans have noted a background character that looks like Kanna. [10]Since cupids can temporarily make themselves visible to humans, fans wondered if this background character was in fact Kanna, utilizing Koharu’s advice to make matches and gain karma.[11] This might also explain Kanna’s knowledge of Koharu and Aki’s bond.

Another prominent theory stems from a mugshot drawing that Inee posted of the four cupids. In the drawing, you can see heart-shaped gunshot holes in the wall behind them. Since the gunshot hole next to Koharu aligns with the industrial accident wound that killed her,[12] fans have speculated that the illustration might provide clues as to how the other cupids died.
