Kirishima Eijirou x Ashido Mina sometimes abbreviated Kirimina, is a het ship in the Boku no Hero Academia fandom.
Background
Kirishima and Ashido are classmates in Class 1-A. They also went to the same middle school.
Reception and Popularity
Kirimina was a controversial pairing for a time,[1] due to a viral meta Powerpoint (The Perhaps Not-So Accidental Gay Coding of Kirishima Eijirou by Tumblr user and KiriBaku shipper blackdeku) theorizing that Kirishima was coded as gay.[2] Icon blogs would make DNI banners including this ship (among a litany of others).[3]
Kirimina shippers often felt like the hate was baseless and excessive, especially when compared to more controversial pairings on those lists[4] or when analyzing the Powerpoint's arguments.[5]
