Kes Dameron is the father of Poe Dameron, first introduced in the Star Wars comic book ‘’Shattered Empire’’ by Greg Rucka (writer) and Marco Checchetto (art) in 2015. He is married to Alliance pilot Shara Bey and served at the Battles of Hoth and Endor before retiring with Bey to raise their son on Yavin 4.

Canon

Kes Dameron and Shara Bey served in the Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. During the conflict, the couple had a son, Poe. The couple sent their son to live with Bey’s father while they continued to fight the Empire. Kes helped build Echo Base on Hoth, and he served as sergeant in the Pathfinders during the Battle of Endor. He and Shara retired from the Alliance a few months after that battle and relocated to Yavin 4 with their son.

While Kes Dameron’s canon story takes place during the original trilogy, his initial appearances were tied to the release of the sequel trilogy, and his role as Poe Dameron’s father means that the character appears in a number of sequel trilogy fan works.
