Reactions and Reviews

1990

I thought this was a well-plotted story. I especially liked the part about the spontaneous bonding and Spock's plan to use it for Kirk's defense. The author gave us several interesting characters, not the least of whom was Admiral Nogura, a man determined to have things his own way, if not right away, then sometime in the future.

How could anyone think that Kirk wouldn't immediately go in search of his missing ship — however he had to do it?

I also enjoyed the part where Kirk first talks to Spock mentally from the ship and his easy acceptance of it.

The only reservation I had was having McCoy put in charge of the Enterprise. Now, McCoy may be good at a lot of things, but I somehow can't see him commanding the ship.

An enjoyable story. [1]
