Katya Baturinsky was a fanwriter whose fanworks appeared in fanzines. She maintained an extensive fanfic rec page called This is Katya[1] and penned a fandom meta essay Fannish Musings: If My Fandoms Were Men.[2] Katya also hosted one of Tira Nog's Stargate Atlantis stories "Resilience."[3] She passed away in Jan 2017. After this her website was shutdown, but some parts is archived.[4]

Memories/Recollections

The family of author and long-time fan Katya Baturinsky is saddened to announce that she passed away suddenly, but quietly, at home from a bout of the flu. She enjoyed many fandoms, and her friends often teased her about always going for the latest Shiny toy. She helped recruit others into many classic fandoms like UNCLE and Pros with DVDs and 'zines, and wrote well loved stories in UNCLE. Her quick and sometimes sarcastic wit was coupled with an overwhelmingly generous nature. She was both brilliantly intelligent and a complete 'blonde.' While she only attended MediaWest*Con a few times, she was a prolific con-goer to the smaller, more local cons. Privately, she was devoted to her family and shared funny stories about them with close friends. She is greatly missed.[5]

It is with deep regret, I have to post of the passing of katyabaturinsky. Katya....is the person who got me hooked on Pros fandom many, many years ago after attending Media West. In the nearly 20 years I knew her, she was involved in multiple fandoms (Uncle, Sentinel, SGA) but she also kept the spark alive for Bodie and Doyle.[6]
