Katja Schmitt is a German fan artist who has illustrated both print fanzines as well as online fan fiction. She writes: "My first contact with 'fan fiction' and everything that is part of fan culture came when I typed "Star Wars" into a search engine 10 years ago. The most creative, most innovative web sites have not been corporate but are to be found among writers and artists of the "fan communities....Here are samples of my collaborations with members of these communities..."
