Reactions and Reviews

This is an excellent adventure, h/c story. Jim and Blair start off to take a simple vacation. Of course, everything soon goes terribly wrong. They're left instead battling for their lives, stranded in the Nevada desert with Jim blinded and Blair deaf as well as suffering from a gunshot wound he keeps from his blessed protector. There's a lot of action in this one and a reasonable measure of smarm. The bad guy is truly evil, and our boys are put through a lot. It's a really fun ride.[1]

All The Sentry Post zines are marvelous. .... I won't say all, but 99% of the stories are polished and so very well written. I have a special fondness for a very long story in one of the early volumes - by K.Ryn (who, by the way, is a gen TSFF goddess). In this one Jim and Blair are travelling across the desert and Blair unfortunately stumbles upon one of the most despicable bad guys in TS fiction. Bad things ensue <g>, and Jim and Blair (despite hearing and sight loss) have to depend on each other to get through the ordeal. Jim is amazing in this one and Blair - well, I wanted to wrap my arms around both of them. K.Ryn is tops when it comes to plot and characterization. [2]
