Jacob Black is a major character of the Twilight series.
Canon
Jacob is described as an attractive Native American of the Quileute tribe, and gained the ability to become a werewolf in the second book.
Although initially a Beta werewolf under Sam Uley's rule, he later broke away from Sam's pack and became an alpha after Sam planned to kill Bella and Renesmee Cullen. He was joined by Seth Clearwater and Leah Clearwater. Later in the Breaking Dawn novel, Embry Call and Quil Ateara V joined their pack after tension between the Cullens and the Uley pack was resolved.
Fandom
Much of the Twilight fandom involved the debate between Team Jacob and Team Edward, separate factions which wanted Jacob/Bella or Edward/Bella to be canon.
