Jack Gillespie was an early science fiction fan and member of the Futurians. He edited an issue of Cosmic Tales with James Taurasi and Robert G. Thompson, along with a single-issue zine called Just Things.
Gillespie went to the 1937 Third Eastern Convention with the Futurians, but he voted against Donald A. Wollheim and John B. Michel's resolution (see Mutation or Death!) It was his first in-person meeting with the Futurians, and the group had yet to enter all-out war with the Triumvirs. Gillespie went on to edit the fourth issue of Cosmic Tales with Taurasi and Thompson that winter.[1] In 1939, he would be one of the six Futurians kicked out of Worldcon in the Great Exclusion Act.
