Isadora Quagmire is a character in A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Canon Background

After their parents die in a fire, Isadora and her brother Duncan are sent to Prufrock Preparatory School, where they meet the Baudelaire orphans. Their brother Quigley is originally thought to have died as well, so they are frequently mistaken for twins. They are kidnapped by Count Olaf and Esmé Squalor and later saved by the Baudelaires. They are captured once more and, after being freed, chased by a mob before escaping with Hector in his Self-Sustaining Hot Air Mobile Home.

Isadora is a poet. When held captive in an elevator shaft, she and Duncan are led to believe that they are experiencing hallucinations. They keep their information about VFD in their matching commonplace notebooks. In the show, she has a crush on Klaus and kisses him.

Isadora is commonly interpreted as a trans girl, as she is described as "identical" to her triplet brothers, including "the exact same height," abnormal if they were fraternal.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Also popular is the theory that she is sapphic, as Isadora and her brother Duncan are named for famous bisexual dancer Isadora Duncan. She's also compared to lesbian poet Sappho by Sunny.[3][4][7][8][9]
