Invadermar (or Invader MAR) was a popular Invader Zim fanartist, well known for her Invader Zim dress up game (now lost)[1] and running the DeviantART chatroom Fun4Fun. When she was an active DeviantART member she had earned a senior membership, "an award given to outstanding deviants who have made their mark on the community."[2] She was a selfshipper, shipping her infamous Invader Zim Irken OC Mar with Zim. As of the 2020s, Invader MAR is absent from fandom as a nursing student and beauty therapist, though she still sometimes draws one-off cartoons on her Instagram.[3]
Invadermar was also a target of extensive mid-2000s trolling by Encyclopedia Dramatica, who maintains a webpage on her from when she was a minor (specially age 16). The page has many references to her popularity on DeviantART when she was an active member, but no screenshots of her watcher count or view count remain; there are no captures of her now deactivated DeviantART account.

As someone who was a HUGE former fan of Marilyn lol, thank you for putting together this video. I was fairly active on dA from 2007-2012, and friends with both ChibiMimi (I think MimiMarie now?) and Mar. I fell off of dA and its' community once I grew older and now, 11 years later found myself curious whatever happened to everyone. I appreciate you being considerate of how people were just bullying her for no reason or out of spite, and that she was just self-conscious and found comfort in Invader Zim at the end of the day. I'm glad you brought up some errors on her and Marie's part too-- I think the Internet as a whole has since become a lot more conscious of how art and media posts personally impacts others and to put into perspective personal biases/ how their work could be offensive, it's nice they chose to ultimately take it down. And lastly thank you for sharing her current socials, it's so cool to see her artwork now, still as bubbly as ever but definitely grown <3 have a nice day!@cafulur on What happend? Okay, so, I know Mar (the pink Irken pictured here) isn’t really that big of a thing anymore, given that I don’t think she’s active on dA anymore, but despite this fact (as well as the fact that this drawing is 3 years old), this argument still fucking kills me.Just because Mar’s creator and her friends can’t handle criticism of the character, even when it’s constructive not presented in a rude way, supposedly every OC of anyone who wants to throw in their two cents is a Sue? I’m not really sure how they think that works, but alright.

Criticism and Leaving Fandom
Criticism from Encyclopedia Dramatica was focused much on invadermar's physical appearance, her confidence or lack of confidence in her art, and her personal relationships with boys her own age. While read in jest by invadermar initially, the comments eventually led invadermar to ask "what people have against her to create something like this," however this quote is from Encyclopedia Dramatica and therefore should be taken with a grain of salt. The page and negative comments on her profile led her to deactivate her DA account in 2008, moving to marinvader, and then disappear from fandom.
Criticism surrounding Invadermar (beyond ad hominin on Encyclopedia Dramatica) was on her switch from safe for work art to sexualized art, and her relationships with various online boyfriends.[4] Additionally, some other artists claimed that her Invader Zim OC, Mar, was a Mary Sue. Even though she was criticized, invadermar was also well-liked. Many enjoyed her art and frequented her chatroom, Fun4Fun.[6]
