Into the Shadows: A Tribute to Dark Shadows is a zine of poetry, art, fiction, and articles edited by Rebecca Bilbrey.

Reactions and Reviews

This zine is an intriguing experiment: An exploration of the 1795 storyline through original poetry and art. The art alone is well worth the cost. Earl Geier has done some incredibly beautiful original illustrations of DS events that were never seen on the screen--Josette's shipboard journey to Collinsport; her funeral plus a marvelously evocative view of Barnabas gazing out from Widow's Hill to the ocean. James Mannon and Douglas Smith have also done some beautiful work for this zine. Also included are character 'biographies' on Barnabas, Angelique. Josette and Quentin. which rely more on the extrapolations of fan fiction than on the actual storyline, and should more properly be classified as stories. Finally, there are articles on the basics of certain aspects of the occult such as Wicca, Vampirism, Lycanthropy, the Tarot and Parallel Time. The book is in the 8 1/2x 11 format, with excellent art and reproduction. Cost: $6.00. [1]
