Into a World of Sinners was a Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan story by Ruth Gifford.
Summary: WORK IN PROGRESS. what about a story where - somehow - the boys get transported back to the days when the Jedi were still just a contemplative order (i.e. peaceful, non-aggressive monk-like) and perhaps our Obi-Wan is a novice of this order, and - equally somehow - Qui-Gon is some sort of primitive King or General who takes a fancy to our young Jedi novice...

Long Stories: Into A World Of Sinners by Ruth Gifford. Back in the days when the Jedi were a contemplative group, Obi-Wan was studying in the Temple under Mace Windu when a summons came from King Qui-Gon and everything changed....This story is still a work-in-progress, but even unfinished is well worth reading for its brilliant study of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in a different time and place.[1]
