Interludes is a gen Dark Shadows fiction anthology by Dale Clark.

The stories are related to the long-running series that started with Reunion in 1992. Part of Clark's challenge was that he kept having to revise and rewrite these stories as he progressed with the main series.

From the author's flyer: "INTERLUDES is a collection of short stories by fan author Dale Clark that explore various aspects and relationships of characters and situations developed in his continuing DARKSHADOWSnovels, REUNION, RETRIBUTION,REVELATIONS, DESTINY and DISASTER."

A Long Time in the Making

Clark began taking pre-orders for it several years before its publication, and there were frequent updates about its progress in Inside the Old House. In July/August 1996, he wrote:

You should find a flyer enclosed in Ihis issue. INTERLUDES should be at long last finished by Ihe end of July, so for those of you who have pre-ordered, look for it in your mail boxes the first couple of weeks of August. Those of you who have so patiently waited for INTERLUDES, you 'll be gelling a little somelhing extra. . . And just for Ihe record , I'm never going to take pre-orders for another book ever againI I'm convinced that's whal has put a hex on this project.

• Lycanthrope (While plotting revenge against his father, Cyrus Carrington reflects on his cursed existence and thinks of what his life might have been like had his mother not met and fell in love with Quentin Collins.)

• Heritage (Vicki and Peter Bradford's dreams of happiness are shattered as tragedy mars their plans for a family. But unknown to them, other forces are at work, forces that have their own agenda for the infant of Victoria Winters.)
