Inform is a programming language and development environment for creating interactive fiction (IF) or text adventure games. It was created by Graham Nelson and has been widely used for creating original works and to a lesser-extent fanworks and fangames.
The most recent version, Inform 7, was released in 2006 and introduced a more natural language-like syntax to make IF development more accessible to non-programmers. This allows authors to write code that reads more like English prose.
Alongside Twine, it is a popular choice for creating interactive fanfiction.
