In the Wake of Ruin is Blake's 7 story by Linda Willard.

It was published in Horizon #11 in January 1988 and reprinted in Southern Seven #10 in May 1995.

Summary

Horizon once said we'd had enough PGP (post Gauda Prime) stories to last a lifetime, but this one is so brilliant we've made an exception. Avon and Vila are still alive, but Avon has been captured by Servalan. What can Vila do? (Eat your heart out, Tony Attwood!!) (From an ad in Horizon Newsletter #19)

Reactions and Reviews

Superb pgp told from Vila's pov and revealing a motive for Avon's killing of Blake which manages credibly to show respect and honor for both men and their prior relationship. [1]

If you want a credible explanation for Avon's shooting Blake on Gauda Prime, read In The Wake of Ruin by Linda Willard in Horizon 11. Of all the PGPs I've ever read, it's the only one that plausibly explains WHY Avon shot Blake. (Jac: It's one of my top ten favourite fan stories, probably my favourite PGP!) [2]

Though comparatively short, this is the best PGP I have read, because it doesn't just accept what happened on Gauda Prime, but gives a credible reason as to WHY it happened. [3]

Linda Millard's "In the Wake of Ruin" gives a refreshingly different angle on the events on GP [4]

A superb PGP (post Gauda Prime) story by Linda Willard <...> There's a half a dozen stories other as well, but the above are well worth the cost on their own."[5]

Fair, decent stuff. Interesting. Fine. That's good. [6]
