A classic Kirk/Spock vid to the song "In This Room" by Leslie Tucker. It is the collaboration of two fans, one who does not want to be identified.
In an email to the KirkSpockCentral mailing list dated March 18, 2013, one of the collaborators wrote:"Many of the stills are not screencaps, but computer generated (Photoshopped) images and I was responsible for those with much direction [of my co-editor]. It was her vision that made the vid possible." (quoted with permission)
Reactions and Reviews
What a gorgeous vid. If you ever need to see something to take the sting of “I feel young” right out of your head, if you want to see Kirk grieve for his lover as you need him to, then this vid is for you. Put together with impeccable skill, excellent timing, and a selection of still images that will take your breath away, this vid will bring tears to your eyes. The song itself is haunting; the pain felt by one of a pair of long-time lovers when the other dies, and how “in this room” they shared all aspects of their lives. Interspersed with “real” scenes of Kirk mourning Spock’s death, such as the poignant way he lays his hand on Spock’s chair on the bridge, or the turbolift scene when he blinks back tears, are beautiful photomanipulations of them talking together and making love. My favorite is not even explicit: a lovely shot of the two of them in bed together seen from the viewpoint of the head of their bed. Their faces aren’t visible, just two heads, one dark, one light turned toward each other. Kirk’s arm is across Spock’s back, his other hand holding Spock’s wrist.
Oh, so intimate and extraordinarily moving. [1]
"The only other K/S vids that affected me sooooo strongly [was].....In This Room... .....I sobbed - not just cried - but SOBBED at In This Room. It is the singularly most devastatingly sad & gorgeous Kirk/Spock music vid I have ever seen....EVER!....you are so AMAZING!!!!!!"[2]
