Imrahil is a minor character from The Lord of the Rings.
Canon
A prince of a noble house in Gondor, Imrahil is uncle to the better-known Faramir. After Denethor fell to madness during the Siege of Gondor, Imrahil was the highest-ranking nobleman left capable of battle, and played a major role in the city's defense. After Denethor's death, Aragorn appointed Imrahil to temporarily rule the city until Faramir recovered from his wounds.
Imrahil survived the War of the Ring, serving as an advisor to King Elessar and becoming close friends with Éomer, who would eventually marry Imrahil's daughter.
Fandom
Imrahil is sometimes shipped with Legolas but appears more often in Gen fic focused on his platonic relationships with Faramir and his other relatives, or as a background character in fanworks focused on more prominent characters.
