Improved_Archie was a Scans Daily-adjacent Livejournal community maintained by Mightygodking. It ran weekly competitions for captions "improving" panels from Archie Comics, usually obscene or parodying the then-squeaky-clean image of Archie Comics. A rule was eventually instated banning the use of racial slurs and similar language for a cheap laugh.
The community was targeted by copyright claims from Archie Comic Publications, Inc. Mightygodking's first response was to add a watermark to all edited panels reading I_A, but the community was later deleted and purged anyway. Mightygodking himself was banned around the same time for posting content involving the pre-release leak of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. See The Carpet Book.
