I still can’t BELIEVE Chuuya named his love song for Dazai “I’m Not Allowed To Comment on Ongoing Port Mafia Records Legal Disputes, But-”. I literally just remembered everything while i was washing the dishes and now i’m a sobbing mess and in total disbelief because i’ll never be able to listen to it.
Sometimes I wonder how the author of IWSYNTTR feels? It's like, THE ultimate soukoku fic for most soukoku fans, and a lot of people know about it and make content for it. Personally, I wouldn't say it's MY favourite soukoku fic (but I rushed through it so I'll be rereading), but damn is it popular. The author should feel proud tbh, I've seen it in ALL social media platforms. Edit : okay I'm editing this because the original post sounded like I was against the creator or smth 😭 just wanted to clarify, I have now re-read and I think it's one of the best soukoku fics in existence. It's just so well written and thought out. And I still absolutely think that author should be fucking proud of this fic! It's amazing. I'm still surprised by the sheer amount of people who know and appreciate it but it's well deserved.

Review without spoilers
At first it's good, the characterisation is fine, the story telling is Ok, the story line makes sense and is overall well made.
But then we get to the last two chapters, and it sinks like the Titanic.
It's obvious just by looking at the word count that the author was either sick of it, or felt very pressured to finish it. It's all rushed; their actions become sloppy and precipitated; the narration and its quality decay and they start to act very Out Of Character.
I honestly expected a better ending because I was genuinely enjoying the fanfic, but instead I got absolute chaos.
This is more of a personal opinion, but by the end the only thing I felt was pure cringe.
Side note: With this I'm not trying to shame the author nor say that it's wrong of you to like the fanfic, never in a million years would that be my intention. I just want to give a different perspective to the people who haven't read it and might want to do so.
It really is a well written fic, like one of my favorite fics of all time. I usually don’t like alternate universes either but the plot was actually really enticing and the characterization is perfect. The main thing is Chuuya and Dazai’s relationship but you also get to see them growing on their own and how they interact with others. I kinda regret reading it so early when getting into the BSD fandom because now nothing really compares to it lol. And while most alternative universes come off as oc or like different characters, screaming your name through the radio still feels like BSD, just music industry version lol. It’s so good I kinda like to imagine it as a parallel universe like Beast :]
