International Blog Against Racism Week or IBARW began in 2006 as an effort to focus blogging efforts on the issue of racism, broadly defined. It took place annually until 2009, held over one week in July and/or August. While not strictly a fannish event, and not strictly a Livejournal event (some posts took place on InsaneJournal), many fans participated and many posts have a focus on race and racism in media sources, fans, fan interactions and fanworks.
In 2006, the roundup of posts was collected on rilina's LJ: International Blog Against Racism Week Link Roundup (link offline, not archived).
In 2007, the organization of the week moved to an LJ community: ibarw and a delicious list: ibarw.
