Hyperspace is a 1990 Star Wars zine published in the UK by three friends who were all Star Wars fans and new members of the Moons of Yavin fan club. They regularly got together to engage in fannish activities such as roleplaying or going to the cinema.

There were plans for the zine to continue on an irregular basis beyond issue 1 if it proved popular enough and the team had time, but, unfortunately, this never happened.

Content

Issue 1 consisted of a cover and fifteen pages:

  • COVER PICTURE TO FOLLOW
  • Cover: 'Hyperspace' logo and issue number. The cover features a photograph of an Imperial Shuttle as seen on a West End Games publication.
  • Page 1: "Introduction" - Rik's welcome to the zine on behalf of the team. Features a photo of C-3PO and R2-D2 from 'Return of the Jedi' at the bottom of the page.
  • Page 2-3: "Story - Capture: Part 1" - Follows a small rebel unit on a top secret mission. At the bottom of page 3 is artwork of the strike team from 'Return of the Jedi' (story by Colin Smithson, artwork by Paul Beattie.)
  • Page 4: "Artwork" - a collage of Star Wars characters: Stormtrooper, Wicket the Ewok, Luke Skywalker, Han and Leia, and Admiral Ackbar (artwork by Paul Beattie.)
  • Page 5: "Film Review - Willow" - Rik gives this 1988 Ron Howard fantasy film a very positive review. It includes picture of one of the trolls from the film.
  • Page 6: "Fan Profile - Jason Grant" - here we have a few details of the Moon's of Yavin club runner.
  • Page 7-10: "Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game" - four pages of Star Wars role playing information, including details of the Millennium Falcon for those wishing to set an adventure there.
  • Page 11: "Questions" - twenty questions about the Star Wars universe.
  • Page 12: "Puzzles" - features a crossword of Star Wars terms.
  • Page 13: "Word Search" - twenty hidden Star Wars words to find. At the bottom of the page is a reminder to send the completed puzzles in for marking.
  • Page 14: "Competition" - features a picture of Darth Vader and an empty speech bubble next to him .... what is Vader saying? The best quote sent it wins a prize! (an Empire Strikes Back pop-up book, no less!) At the bottom of the page is a note about a few editions of the Marvel Star Wars weekly comic for sale.
  • Page 15: "Closing" - Rik explains how much the team have enjoyed putting the zine together, shares some details of the production, and hopes more content can be provided.
