History
This article or section needs expansion. |
Hollyhocks and Cherry Blossoms began as a Kickstarter project on February 14th, 2022. Previous to this, Kraft had worked with Sophie Scruggs on the Crystal Gems Jumbo Enamel Pins series in 2021 for Steven Universe fandom. Due to the success of the pin project, and her status as a Asahina x Oogami BNF with the popularity of her fanart and comics on Tumblr, Kraft's goal was reached and exceeded with $4,781 American USD raised by March 16th, 2022[1].
The artbook was completed on October 4th, 2022. Backers who pledged for all rewards received a physical booklet, an enamel pin, eight stickers and a digital PDF. It was also packaged in a sakura-patterned envelope[2].
Back in July of 2021, I started drawing fanart of these two together a lot. I had a few people commenting on individual pieces asking me if I would consider making prints. But I kept making new paintings at such a breakneck pace that it would be tricky to make prints of so many pieces. So I kept painting more pieces and figured it would be best to compile all of these paintings into one art book.
And that’s what I am hoping to be able to fund here today![3]
