Reactions and Reviews

This is very funny, that's for sure! But it also had a lot of interesting ideas all packed into one little place. And monkee hit the voices dead on, every single one! (Well, okay, we never hear Porthos, but it's as I imagine he would speak!) I loved "The Denobulan" and "the Subservient Quadruped" parts the best, but they were all great! Too fun. [1]

This was both hilarious and filled with some nice, serious insights. I loved how Monkee handled the different points of view in "Her Strut" Not one point of view among the regulars was left out of this including that of the "The Subservient Quadruped." (My favorite portion of the story). Well, that is of course except for the strutee herself. I liked how Monkee captured the cadence of Archer's voice. I could really hear him saying those words and I like his thoughts about how hard it is to read her and how building a solid command relationship will be demanding enough. I loved Trip's segment and his admission that she just might break his heart. Reed's turn made me laugh out loud. And it was fun to finally hear someone give Travis a voice. Loved the reference to finding *her* sweet spot! LOL. She captured well some of that man's arrogance while giving a nod to how little we know him thus far. I like how Monkee handles Hoshi's complex feelings and how she nails Phlox's prurient interest. And in each little glimpse into the other's thoughts we get a nice picture of T'Pol as well. Nicely done. [2]

This is a very enjoyable story. As soon as I saw this title I immediately thought of Malcom's comments about a certain part of T'Pol's anatomy, but monkee went one better and found applications for every member of the crew! [3]

A great look at an intruiging character through many different eyes. I especially liked Porthos' opinion. [4]

Hehe. Any story with so many nice lines and a decent Porthos POV yet (behold the power of cheese) is worth the read. And dammit, monkee, now I *do* have that Bob Seger song stuck in my head. [5]

No list of this year's best ENT stories would be complete without this one! The characters' voices sound just right, even to "The Subservient Quadruped." Gotta love all the officers' secret attractions to T'Pol. But please, monkee, do NOT write, or even think about writing, a follow-up story pairing Phlox with T'Pol! (Especially after we've seen Phlox's tongue!) [6]

I love this story! T'Pol is probably my favorite ENT character, and monkee does a fabulous job of showing her from the points of view of the other characters, even the "subservient quadruped" (ha!). One of monkee's greatest skills is her ability to capture a character's style in both diction and thought -- and she uses that skill to excellent effect here. [7]
