From the author:
Knowledge of season five is somewhat essential from Chapter 26 onward, spoilers for it abound, but in my world season five did not occur as it played out onscreen. A little flexibility is necessary, this is definitely AU, and if you know my writing at all, then you know my "Meridian" will most assuredly be quite different from the aired one.
As always, thanks to Brenda, Lori, Cheryl, Lorrie, Obelix, Grac, Tiv, Poss, Cathy, Anna, and of course An nie. To my own Tay for the incredible support and love that keeps me going. And to everyone who takes the time to let me know they like what I do. Thanks also to Carol's cousin Carol and to Poss for the Russian text.
A lot has changed in our Stargate Universe this past year or so, saddening changes all in all. In my opinion our once great show devolved into something intended to be more palatable to the masses, unfortunately the heart and soul and intelligence that made it so great were the price for those changes. I, for one, much prefer the characters that I came to love, the intelligence and insights that were always a cut above, the faith that could move mountains, and the friendships that will never die. That is what you'll find here ....
Here's hoping we all find them again in season seven.
From the Editor:
Wow, what can I say? I'm extraordinarily pleased and honored to have the privilege to publish one of JayEm's stories, especially an entire novel like this! So, as always, I thank my wonderful contributors, all of the artists who produced wonderful artwork and photo manips on demand, and JayEm herself who brings us a lovely story about SG-1 as a team and a family and Jack and Daniel as friends and a little bit more.
