Gwanon, a portmanteau of "Gwen" and "anon," is the fandom-given name to a persistent, well-known anonymous harasser and troll within the Total Drama fandom. They emerged sometime during 2019, (though one known source says they were active in 2018,) and they are infamous for their passionate tirades against anyone they deem a "hater" of Gwen, a character from the show. These tirades often harass individual fans, contain death threats, are racist, and are sexist.

Gwanon targets fans of color, Female fans, Courtney fans, and Courtney/Duncan shippers in particular, though many are caught in their crossfire even if they don't fall into any of these categories. They are most well known on Tumblr due to that website's anonymous ask feature, though Gwanon has also been seen on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Wattpad to a limited extent.

Two fans have been accused of being Gwanon over the years.

  • A fan by the name of Hanz[1] may be them, since he harasses fans in the comment sections of TD fanworks posted on social media over Gwen with threats and falls into similar speech patterns[2] All known Gwanon-like interactions off Tumblr have been with one of his pseuds, and some fans targeted by Gwanon believe they are the same person. Both may also speak Spanish as a primary language[3]. However, his threats aren't racist or sexist, nor is he known to have a Tumblr account.
  • Another fan, totaldrama--sierra, has also been accused as being Gwanon. She is a long-time fan on Tumblr and is infamous for promoting racist content on her blog and harassing users on anon[4]. However, this is all they have in common, and there is far less proof they are the same person than with Hanz. alecodys has said that blocking totaldrama--sierra removed Gwanon from ae's inbox, though[5], and some fans targeted by Gwanon believe they are the same person.

Many in the fandom believe that "Gwanon" is multiple fans. Because their tirades aren't too different from one to the next, many may impersonate this fan to further troll the fandom. There have also been parody anons themed around other characters from the show.

Gwanon was featured in unironicduncanstan's Total Drama Iceberg in 2021.
