Gokudera Hayato is a character from Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

Canon

Hayato Gokudera is a secondary protagonist in Katekyo Hitman Reborn. He is one of the protagonist Tsunayoshi Sawada's friends and holds the position of Lightning Guardian within the Tenth Generation of the Vongola mafia. He is fourteen years old at the start of the manga.

Gokudera is the illegitimate son of a mafia boss and a talented pianist, but was raised thinking he was the legitimate son of the mafia boss and his wife. When he found out this was not the case, he gave up playing the piano and began trying to join the mafia. He became an explosives expert, eventually attracting Reborn's attention. Reborn lured him to Japan with the promise that he'd be allowed to lead the Vongola if he defeated Tsuna, but their encounter ultimately results in Gokudera promising to become Tsunayoshi's right hand man. He has a complicated relationship with his half-sister, Bianchi, as his father repeatedly had him consume her poisonous cooking prior to doing piano recitals and seeing her now makes him feel ill.
