Saiyan anatomy is often used as an excuse to portray tropes like mating cycles, mating bites, Mpreg and a rigidly-structured biological hierarchy. Along with Bulma/Vegeta and Inuyasha x Kagome, Goku/Vegeta fandom was one of the primary originators of such tropes in anime fandom, years before they would become codified for other fandoms as Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics.
