Gohan/Trunks is a fairly popular ship in Dragon Ball fandom.

Canon

Fandom

The Trunks in Gohan/Trunks is always understood to be Trunks from the future timeline, who was mentored by the Gohan from that timeline. For many years, HanTora was used only for Future Gohan/Future Trunks, but in Dragon Ball Super, Future Trunks meets the adult Gohan from the canon timeline, and the HanTora label is now sometimes used for Present Gohan/Future Trunks.

Future Gohan/Future Trunks is an angsty ship by nature, since the Gohan from that timeline was killed, but there are also fluffy works, especially after Future Trunks met with a living Gohan in DBS. Different versions of the characters are distinguished by Future Gohan's scar, Adult Present Gohan's glasses, Original Future Trunks having purple hair, and DBS!Future Trunks having blue hair. The child Trunks in the present timeline also has purple hair, but he appears only rarely in Truhan despite existing in the same timeline as a living Gohan.

On AO3, Trunks/Goten is the more popular ship, while Gohan/Trunks is much rarer and split between several different tags. On Pixiv, Gohan/Trunks is the more popular ship.
