Gencest is a term used in the Supernatural fandom. It is a portmanteau between the words gen and Wincest. The word denotes fanworks with Sam and Dean Winchester being emotionally incestuous but not sexually or romantically involved. An event centered on the concept is the Gencest Bang. The term has appeared as early as 2009, possibly coined by spectralbovine.[1]
